New economic sanctions against Russia

Brussels: The European Union is considering imposing new sanctions on Russia worth Rs 96,800 crore. It has also proposed an embargo on third countries supplying key weapons, particularly those used by Russia to bolster its military presence on the battlefields of Ukraine. Russia is increasingly using Iranian drones to attack settlements in Ukraine. In order to prevent this, it is mentioned in the European Union’s proposal to impose economic sanctions on seven Iranian companies. European Union President Ursulo von der Leyen said the sanctions would come into effect if the EU’s proposals are unanimously approved by its member states.
