Mumbai: Mahindra Farm Equipment Services, part of the Mahindra Group, has announced the opening of its first dedicated farm machinery manufacturing plant at Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh.
With the launch of this new plant, Mahindra Farm Equipment Services plans to expand its farm machinery business by 10 times in 5 years, Mahindra Farm Equipment Services said in a statement.
Covering an area of 23 acres, it has the capacity to produce 1,200 combine harvesters and 3,300 rice transplanters per year. At the same time, the report also said that it aims to create a huge hub for farm machinery in the state.
The report further states:
“In addition to meeting domestic market demand, products will also be produced for export to global markets in Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
The new plant is capable of rolling out new products designed at Mahindra’s global technology centers in Finland, Japan and Turkey.
We aim to grow the farm machinery business 10 times in 5 years. The new farm machinery plant at Bidhampur is a key pillar in the implementation of this strategy.
