A meeting was held at the Cabinet Office, which included the Ministers of Planning, Higher Education, Scientific Research, and State for Cabinet Affairs, the Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies at the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education, the President of the Libyan Academy, and the Director of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Planning.

The meeting was devoted to “following up on the issuance of financial authorizations related to faculty members’ bonuses for teaching hours, and supervision of graduate programs within the country for the academic year 2023-2024.”

Al-Qayeb stated, “The Academy, its branches, and 13 universities have submitted their documents to the Ministry, which will work with the Ministry of Planning to issue the necessary financial authorizations.”

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued a “circular to the rest of the universities to submit the necessary documents before the end of this month.”

The Director of the Postgraduate Studies Department at the Ministry of Technical Education also presented a position on the postgraduate programmes in the 10 technical colleges, and the dues required for faculty members in exchange for teaching and supervision.

These measures come within the National Unity Government’s plan to support postgraduate programmes domestically and address the dues of faculty members in return.
