New first secretary of the UJC elected in Caimito

This Sunday the XII Municipal Assembly Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) met in Caimito at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp, whose call was launched on April 4. 79 delegates attended the organic process, representing 98.7% attendance, plus ten guests.

Among the work objectives for the 2023-2028 stage were: ensuring the growth of membership from the socio-political study in the base committees of the FEEM and FEU; identify the concerns, aspirations and initiatives of the militancy and young people in the area of ​​action; generate spaces for exchange aimed at raising the awareness and commitment of members in their promotion to the Party.

And also, energize the methods associated with military service starting from the student bastion and exercise; articulate the work of student organizations and youth movements based on their motivations and interests; encourage activism on digital platforms; establish agreements and improve existing ones with different cultural and recreational institutions; generate exchange spaces with young people in training and graduates in the education, sports and health profile; and systematize the development of activities with economic and social impact.

Of the agreements emanating from the municipal Assembly held in 2019, it was found that 66 of the 67 agreed agreements were fulfilled, where one was pending, that of the rescue of the Plaza de la Juventud, and that today it is in a state of transformation.

It was also found that there was significant growth compared to 2019 when the municipality had 737 militants grouped in 70 grassroots organizations, of which three were grassroots committees of the UJC and 18 were dual militants.

Currently, there are 993 militants distributed in 81 grassroots organizations, of which three are grassroots committees of the UJC and the double militants amount to 48. This translates into a growth of 11 grassroots organizations and 256 militants.

The current assembly process began with the process of strengthening grassroots organizations, carried out in 73 of them that meet the conditions to balance. As a result of this process, 36 general secretaries were ratified and 37 new ones were elected, of the total there are 24 who have dual membership.

As a result of the electoral process of the Balance Assembly, it was decided to release José Carlos Mesa Herrera from his responsibility as first secretary of the Caimito Municipal Committee and his career, leadership capacity and work results were recognized, elements that support his ability to assume other tasks within the organization. Janeivys Reyes, first secretary of the Party in Caimito, and Maylen Martínez Abreu, first secretary of the UJC in Artemisa, presented the well-deserved recognition.

According to the voting results, Yusmary León Ávila was elected as the first secretary of the municipal UJC who will be accompanied by Heydi Guerra Pérez, president of the José Martí pioneer organization; Daleimis García Nodalse, member of the integral bureau; and Amanda Rizos Bermúdez, member of the ideological political bureau.

And by the members of the non-professional bureau: Maurice Ramos de Leon, Yaliana Hernandez Ponce de Leon, Laura Almenteros Herrera, Yilena Bejerano Morejon, Wuendy Perez Gonzalez

The event was also attended by Aylín Álvarez García, first secretary of the National Committee of the UJC; Meyvis Estévez Echevarría, second secretary of the National Committee; the Member of the Provincial Educator Bureau of the Party; Yasmany Díaz Hernández, the mayor and other municipal authorities.
