Vodafone has restructured its mobile phone tariffs. The changes will come into effect on September 26th and affect both new and existing customers.

The telecommunications provider Vodafone has revised its mobile phone tariffs. The data volume in many tariffs has been increased. As the company announced, the new Giga Mobile tariffs will be available from September 26th. Private customer manager Marc Albers promises: “We are cleaning up and simplifying our tariff offer.”

The new tariffs have a term of two years and include a flat rate for calls and SMS. They also offer users access to the 4G and 5G network, WiFi calling (making calls via WiFi) and EU roaming. The cheapest tariff costs 30 euros per month, and for 80 euros users get unlimited data volume. Here is an overview of the new Vodafone mobile tariffs:

In all limited tariffs (XS / S / M / L), users can carry over their unused data volume into the following month. Landline customers also receive a ten euro discount on their mobile tariff. In addition, customers with an existing landline connection can surf the internet on their mobile phones without restrictions in tariff levels M, L and XL.

In future, there will be “Giga Mobil Young” tariffs for young people under 28 years of age with the same services – but with a higher data volume at cheaper prices. Here too, unused volume is carried over to the following month. An additional discount of ten euros is granted if you have a landline connection with Vodafone – but only from tariff level “S”. Existing landline customers receive unlimited data volume from tariff level “L”.

If the included data volume is used up, the surfing speed is throttled to 64 KBit/s in all tariff variants. According to Vodafone, however, this is twice as fast as before and sufficient for checking emails, commenting on social media posts and accessing text-heavy websites.

Additional SIM cards with their own mobile phone numbers for family members (Family Cards) remain available. The options here range from 5 GB of data volume (10 euros) to a flat rate for 35 euros per month.

Existing customers also have the option of switching to the new tariffs. However, they must sign a new contract to do so, which means a new term of 24 months.
