New government issues passport; Nawaz Sharif prepares to return to Pakistan

Islamabad | Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to return to the country. Nawaz was given a passport by the new government of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shahbaz Sharif is the new Prime Minister of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif, who went to Britain for treatment, was charged with corruption during the Imran Khan government. With this, Nawaz was unable to return home. Nawaz Sharif, 72, went abroad in November 2019 with the permission of the Lahore High Court. Nawaz Sharif is also the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Nawaz Sharif met with Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in London last week. During the meeting, the two parties agreed to work together for the betterment of Pakistan.
