New Guideline for Hyperemesis Gravidarum to Aid Maternity Care Professionals

All medical professionals in maternity care will soon have access to a new guideline for the treatment of extreme morning sickness, known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). This new guideline comes as a relief for many women who have suffered from severe pregnancy sickness, which is often dismissed as a normal part of pregnancy.

According to an expert named Jessica, her GP, maternity assistant, and medical professionals did not know how to help her with her severe morning sickness. This issue has been reported by Hart van Nederland.

The Pregnancy Sickness and Hyperemesis Gravidarum Foundation is pleased with the upcoming guideline, which includes the latest scientific insights. This means that women with HG will finally be able to receive proper and unambiguous treatment.

In the Netherlands, around 130,000 women suffer from morning sickness each year, with half of those cases being severe. Approximately 2 to 3.6 percent of pregnant women have HG.

The new guideline for the treatment of HG will be beneficial for both maternity care providers and the pregnant women suffering from this condition. The updated medical insights will help to ensure that all women receive the proper care and treatment they need during pregnancy.
