“New Human Genetic Map reveals diversity of genes among races, says Saudi Health Official”

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Health, Dr. Abdullah Asiri, highlighted a human genetic map, which was published today (Wednesday) in a scientific journal.

He explained that 99.9% of the human genome is identical, and the difference is only 0.1% of the genes, pointing out that 119 million genetic codes have been added, through samples taken from 49 donors of different races.

He noted that the first integrated human genome map was published in 2000, and was based on a sample from a white donor in New York.
