President Andres Manuel López Obrador inaugurated the new Issste Hospital Clinic in Cabo San Lucas, accompanied by the general director of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), Bertha Alcalde Luján.

At the inauguration, it was highlighted that during this administration, the institute has invested 30,448 million pesos in infrastructure and equipment, surpassing what was invested in the two previous six-year terms, highlighting the purchase of a CT scanner, a new hemodynamics room, the hiring of more medical personnel and a historic level of medication supply.
During his speech, López Obrador reaffirmed his confidence in President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum, describing her as an extraordinary, exceptional, prepared and incorruptible woman.
“I am going to hand over the leadership of public life in our beloved Mexico into good hands. We are doing very well in this transition process, touring the country together, and we are very optimistic that things will go better for our country,” he said.
For her part, Claudia Sheinbaum assured that she will continue working for the rescue and strengthening of health services as a right of the people.

“The country has changed. There were 36 years of dismantling the ISSSTE, and in 2018 the people said “enough” to a model that privatized, dismantled and, with enormous corruption, ended many of the health and security services provided by the Mexican State,” said the incoming president.
The event was also attended by the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez; the General Coordinator of Policy and Government of the Presidency, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez; and the Coordinating Commissioner of the National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals, Gustavo Reyes Terán; the Executive Director of the ISSSTE Housing Fund, César Buenrostro Moreno; the General Director of the Laboratory of Biologicals and Reagents of Mexico (Birmex), Jens Pedro Lohmann Iturburu; the Medical Director of ISSSTE, Ramiro López Elizalde; and the Director of Administration and Finance of ISSSTE, Almendra Ortiz Genis.
The governor of the state, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, thanked the ISSSTE workers for their participation in the completion of the project, which was a very important need for the people.

The Cabo San Lucas Hospital Clinic It has two operating rooms, laboratories and areas for general surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, imaging, internal medicine, nephrology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, traumatology and orthopedics, allergology and geriatrics, and tomography, X-ray, mammography equipment, osteodensitometry, sonography and hemodialysis of the highest quality.
It was finally announced that the new clinic will begin operations with a staff of 55 specialists out of a total of 321 people including medical staff, nursing staff, specialist nursing staff and administrative support.
