After the merger of the RTL Germany division with the magazine business of the publishing house Gruner + Jahr, the new management team was named. TV stations, print and digital stores and journalistic content each receive a uniform tour, as RTL Germany announced on Wednesday in Cologne. The team will start after the organizational restructuring in the course of the second quarter of 2022.
The streaming area is an important growth market. This year, a kind of super platform is to be created that will provide additional content via the existing RTL + offering with moving images, for example audio. Eva Messerschmidt and Henning Nieslony will be responsible for expanding RTL + with its 2.4 million subscriptions. Messerschmidt (45) most recently headed the innovation department at RTL Germany. Nieslony (36) has been responsible for the streaming service as Co-Managing Director RTL + since December 2019. Henning Tewes will be responsible for the TV business in future. “He will control the TV business of all channels, with the exception of ntv, and will continue to be responsible for the RTL + program content as co-managing director.”
Bernd Hellermann (professional positions at Gruner + Jahr) will be responsible for the print and digital business. Stephan Schmitter (Managing Director RTL News) is responsible for all journalistic content from moving images to digital and audio to print and news channels.
