As previously reported, by order of President Ilham Aliyev, Farid Turab oglu Akhmedov was appointed Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Farid Akhmedov was born on July 14, 1979 in the city of Baku, and graduated from Baku Lyceum No. 43 in 1996.
In 2000, he received a bachelor’s degree, and in 2002, a master’s degree from the Faculty of International Law of Baku State University.
In 2002-2003, F. Akhmedov received a master’s degree in international human rights at the University of Essex in the UK on a “British Chevening” scholarship.
In 2004, he became a graduate student at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of ANAS, and in 2009, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law.
In 2016, he received his PhD in Law from the University of Oxford.

In 2004-2008, F. Akhmedov was engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities in the field of law at Baku State University, in 2009-2011 as a seminar teacher at Oxford University, in 2011-2014 as a senior lecturer at ADA University.
F. Akhmedov began his career in 2000 as a lawyer at the law firm “Ədalət”, where he worked until 2004.
In 2004-2006, he worked as a senior adviser to the department of international law of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 2006-2007 – as a consultant to the department of administrative and military legislation of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2007-2008, he was the chief lawyer of the law firm LegCon Group, and in 2014, he was the head of litigation practice at the law firm BM Morrison Partners.
In 2015-2017, F.Akhmedov was the rector of the Azerbaijan University, in 2017-2020 – deputy general director of Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC.
On March 12, 2021, F.Akhmedov was appointed Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and on May 24, 2022 – Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
