“New Parking Regulations Set to Ease in Tamil Nadu for Businesses”

In Tamil Nadu, restrictions will soon be eased to allow businesses to allocate parking spaces on a need-and-discretion basis.

According to the General Building Regulations, apartments must have one parking space per 807 square feet. One car parking space is mandatory for the first 1076 sqft in factories.

After this, one car parking space for every 538 square feet and one truck parking space for every 5381 square feet is mandatory.

However, Urban Development Department DTCP Chennai Metropolitan Development Corporation CMDA Industrial construction projects are inspected separately and additional parking restrictions are imposed.

Officials said that it has been decided to relax these and that action will be taken after obtaining the permission of the government.
