NIJMEGEN – A new group of fellow sufferers for relatives will start on 3 October in the Marikenhuis. The group is intended for anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer. The theme of the meetings is ‘Dealing with loss and grief’.

During six meetings you will meet fellow sufferers in the same situation as yourself. People who want to share their own story about the loss of a partner or loved one due to cancer. Together we talk about: what are you running into? How do your surroundings react to your grief? How should I proceed now? These and perhaps many more questions and feelings may occupy you on a daily basis. It often helps for processing if you can share feelings, thoughts and memories with other fellow sufferers.

The 6 meetings will take place every two weeks from Monday 3 October in the Marikenhuis. A personal contribution of 15.00 euros is requested for 6 meetings. The group is guided by Alice Gerritsen and Riet Lenaerts, two experienced volunteers from the Marikenhuis.

You can register via www.marikenhuis.nl. After registration, one of the supervisors will contact you. The Marikenhuis, the Nijmegen walk-in center for everyone affected by cancer, is located at Slotemaker de Bruïneweg 163 in Nijmegen.
