Along with the stories of US President Joe Biden and his family, their pet dogs also make headlines. News of Champ’s death, a favorite foster of the Biden family, came out a few months ago. Joe Biden has announced that he and his family have arrived at the White House with a new pet.

The new puppy is named Commander. Joe Biden himself shared pictures of the commander biting a tennis ball through the lawn of the White House on Twitter. In addition, footage of him playing with the commander and a picture of the dog with Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden were shared on the Twitter page. The commander was reportedly gifted to Biden by family members. The Commander is a German Shepherd dog.

Meanwhile, the Major, who was another pet in the White House, has been moved to the side of Biden’s relatives. The Major tried to attack White House officials and some guests. The decision to remove the Major from the White House came after consultation with dog trainers and veterinarians. A spokesman for Jill Biden said it was safe for the Major to live in a slightly quieter atmosphere than the always-busy White House.

Major made history as the first rescue dog to reach the White House. However, Major and Champ did not adapt to the atmosphere in the White House from the beginning, so they were relocated several times. Champ, 13, died in June.

From the pictures it is clear that the new pet dog Biden quickly adapted to the family. In addition to the commander, the Biden family decided to bring a domestic cat to the White House. In April, Jill Biden announced that she was expecting a pet cat. It is reported that a new pet cat will arrive with the Commander in January 2022.
