New Renfe agreement to promote AVE travel in the French region of Occitania

After the signing, tourist packages will be created in which travel on AVE trains will be combined with a gastronomic experience at the ‘Les Grands Buffets’ restaurant, considered one of the best in the world in its category. This alliance will promote sustainable tourism in the Occitania region by promoting trips with Renfe in the neighboring country, both within this region and from Spain.
Currently, Narbonne has four AVE frequencies per day that connect it directly with Madrid and Barcelona and twelve other French and Spanish destinations. The tourist packages that will be offered within the framework of this agreement will be designed for all types of travelers and include weekend getaways and more complete experiences with visits to the region’s places of interest.
Renfe in Narbonne
Narbonne is a connection hub of special relevance for Renfe due to its strategic location, since it is in the center of the two routes it operates in France. It has a direct connection with all AVE International stations and has four daily frequencies, two on the Barcelona-Lyon route and two on the Madrid-Marseille route.
Renfe’s AVE trains between Narbonne and Barcelona connect both cities in two hours, and in five hours with Madrid. The distance to Marseille is covered in two hours and 37 minutes, to Lyon in less than three hours, to Avin in less than two hours, to Nimes in one hour and twenty-two minutes, to Montpellier in less than one hour and to Perpin in 40 minutes. More than half of international AVE trips to Narbonne are from Barcelona, followed by those from Madrid, Lyon, Girona and Marseille.
