Abu Dhabi: Authorities have applied new conditions to expatriates who bring family members to the UAE. The new condition is that expatriates sponsoring five family members must have a monthly salary of at least 10,000 dirhams. The notification in this regard was released on Wednesday.
The new order was issued by the Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, Ali Muhammad Al Shamsi, according to the decision of the UAE Cabinet that came into effect on October 3 last year. The expatriate sponsoring family members must also have adequate accommodation for this.
Expats intending to sponsor six family members must have a monthly salary of at least AED 15,000. If more than six family members are to be brought to the UAE under their own sponsorship, such applications will be directly examined by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Director General.
