Abu Dhabi: (www.kvartha.com) A newly constructed runway was opened at Fujairah Airport. Director General of Fujairah Airport, Ismail Al Balushi, stated that with the start of the new runway, it will be able to accommodate more flights. Sheikh Hamad Bin Salih Al Sharqi performed the inauguration by using the runway for the first time.
The new runway at Fujairah Airport has been granted operational approval by the General Civil Aviation Authority after meeting all international and local standards. The new runway is 3,050 meters long and 45 meters wide.
Ismail Al Balushi stated that the runway has been set up in accordance with all standards approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the UAE’s GCAA. The new runway was launched as part of the development plans of the airport.
