The world of crime always tries to invent ways to harm citizens, with the most varied scams appearing to harm vehicle owners and one of them is going viral on social media.
In Fortaleza, Cíntia Braga (@dracintia.braga), specialist in facial harmonization, parked her car near a restaurant in the capital of Ceará.
Cíntia did not imagine that when returning to her car, a Nissan Kicks, she would have an unpleasant surprise with the vehicle’s circulation record.
Last Saturday, on her way back from the restaurant, Cíntia saw her Japanese brand crossover without the registration plates, which made her feel strange.
After all, who steals signs? Well, not only were they stolen, but surprisingly, there was a note left by the thief.
On it, the miscreant read: “Your license plate back. Avoid problems and absurd expenses to make another one. Payment via Pix. Immediate return”.
In addition to the phone, the bandit still asked for payment via Pix and also made the phone available with WhatsApp app service.
In the end, he stressed in the ticket: “Immediate return”. That is, just send the Pix and receive the plates immediately.
Braga, upon contacting the bandit, discovered that he wanted R$100 to return the plates and even asked the victim to choose a place to deliver it from the vehicle’s external registration.
Cíntia decided to investigate and opened a line of communication with the bandit, in order to have more details that would corroborate with a future police investigation.
The owner of the Nissan Kicks revealed on her Instagram profile: “At no point did I think about making any transfer to recover the plate. The idea of starting the conversation with the suspect was to try to identify someone involved”.
In the same, Cíntia said more: “I already filed a police report and went to the Detran to ask for a new license plate.”
The phone number belongs to a security company and Pix’s CNPJ cannot be traced.
As Cíntia did, in cases like this or even damage, or loss in a flood, the owner of the vehicle must request a duplicate, through the Detran, with the car with all taxes paid and licensed.
If the license plate is old, you must request a new license plate, otherwise, you only pay the fee for the duplicate, the amount of which varies according to the state.
