The temporary committee in the parliament investigating the “Historical Park” held its first meeting today. Various scandalous claims have been heard about Ivelin Mihailov, the creator of the park and ideologue of the Velichie party, whose parliamentary group collapsed.
The financier Prof. Grigor Sariyski shared an opinion, according to which it is very likely that Ivelin Mihailov is engaged in banking without a license, collecting bank loans from various people, pointing out that such actions are illegal.
According to him, the money went to the “Historical Park” in cash, and then was not processed in the proper order.
Sariyski added that in recent years there have been no reports of the attraction’s income to the National Revenue Agency (NAA) and that apparently no taxes have been paid for these received cash amounts.
Col. Stefan Kalchev, who for many years worked as a security guard in the “Historical Park”, stated that until now the state had not carried out any checks on Ivelin Mihailov.
Kalchev claims that he fell into a “very scary scheme” and that Ivelin Mihailov owes him a total of BGN 417,000. The man stated that Ivelin Mihailov was actively assisted by another person – Shtelyan Kalchev, who, according to the man, is a former prisoner in the USA.
Stefan Kalchev was promised by Ivelin Mihailov that over time he would receive dividends from his investments.
“Ivelin’s friends are from the mutt contingent,” said Colonel Kalchev.
He claims that mostly people of Roma origin worked for Mihailov, to whom he gave money in cash from pockets, without any documents.
The investor in “Historical Park” Simeon Ivanov was also heard. He said that on March 23, 2023, he invested in the park through an intermediary – Miroslav Stoyanov, BGN 10,000 with 1% interest on a monthly basis for a period of one year. However, he received the promised money only today, when it became known that he would speak before the committee.
