/ In recent days, the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid has returned to the forefront with a sharp return, as rumors confirm that the French national team striker will defend the colors of the royal club, but the star has not yet announced his decision to leave the capital team, and he is free to do so, whenever he wants.
His silence on the subject, for several weeks, does not change anything about the striker’s situation. His contract with Saint-Germain expires on June 30, and he has never hidden his attraction to Real Madrid, the team of his idol Zinedine Zidane, the Spanish club that has been interested in his services for a very long time and seems well armed to enable him to win the Champions League title that he wants to add to his list of achievements.
Le Parisien and ESPN claimed on Saturday that Mbappe had made up his mind to join Real Madrid, without revealing the source of their information.
In the summer of 2022, it was announced that Mbappé had agreed to move to Real Madrid by several media outlets… before extending his contract with the French capital club for two years.
In 2023, it was also announced that the deal was done, with some French media outlets claiming that Mbappé wanted to join Madrid immediately. The latter responded with “Lies…”, in bold letters on Twitter at the time, “X” now.
Regarding his future, Mbappé has always made it clear that he is the first and last decision-maker and his master, and his last statement on the subject was on January 3rd after the Champions Trophy against Toulouse (2-0). He stressed at the time that “I have not made my decision, I have not made my choice. But we have an agreement with the president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) that guarantees protection for all parties involved”, adding “I will announce it when I make my decision”.
People close to Mbappe did not want to comment on the new rumours when contacted by AFP this weekend.
A source close to the Parisian club confirmed that “there is no development” in the matter, as Mbappe “did not inform the club of any decision”, while there is an agreement whereby the French striker will first inform the Qatari club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, on the day he makes his decision.
