A brand new space dedicated to listening to children is set to open in Saint-Estève. “La Maison Papillon is a support place to help victims and their families rebuild,” according to Laurent Boyet, our guest this Tuesday morning on France Bleu Roussillon.
A new, even more ambitious project for someone who founded the association “Les Papillons” six years ago to give a voice, as he himself was a victim of incest by his older brother at the age of six.

Domestic violence: the fight for child protection by Perpignan’s Laurent Boyet
In this new establishment, the goal is “to have a cocoon in which children feel safe.” Psychologists will be available for children and parents to read letters placed in the mailboxes, as well as to form “discussion groups, training sessions, and legal support.” Essential installations: “a liberated voice is useless if it is not properly supported,” according to the president of the association.
Consultations begin on September 23
This new project is already attracting attention even before its doors open. Several people are making appointments through the Doctolib site, even though consultations will only start on September 23, 2024.
“It’s impressive! We haven’t even promoted it yet!,” rejoices Laurent Boyet. Appointments can be made “in person or via teleconsultation”, he specifies.
No help from the State
To fund this project, the association relies on private funds. 50,000 euros in donations were raised last year, but Laurent Boyet regrets a lack of government grants. “The only support has been for the deployment of free mailboxes thanks to the Ministry of Sports.”
Nonetheless, creating this first “Maison Papillon” in the Pyrénées-Orientales is crucial to continue developing the association and to further assist children.
Thanks to this association, Lily, a victim of sexual violence by her grandfather, was able to denounce in her own way what she had experienced by placing a note in one of the mailboxes. This allowed the way for an investigation, and the trial that will take place on September 23 before the assize court in Bourg-en-Bresse. Laurent Boyet will be present to meet and support her.
