/ The Israeli army revealed the death toll in the battles taking place in the Gaza Strip since the start of the ground operation in late October.

An Israeli army spokesman told Agence France-Presse that “the number of soldiers killed in Gaza since October 27 has reached 200.”

Since October 7, 2,665 Israeli soldiers have been wounded, according to Israeli military data, including 1,207 in the ground operation in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to “eliminate” Hamas after attacks on October 7 that killed some 1,140 people in Israel, most of them civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures.

During the attack, about 250 people were kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip, where 132 of them are still being held, according to Israeli authorities, and at least 28 are believed to have died.

Since then, Israel has been carrying out a devastating bombing campaign and ground operations in Gaza, which began on October 27, killing more than 25,000 people, most of them women and children, according to the health ministry in the Strip.
