35 kilometers of bicycle paths were laid on 31 streets and avenues of the city of Baku, and their gradual extension to approximately 100 kilometers was envisaged.
As Day.Az reports, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency Anar Rzayev said this at a press conference today.
“In the field of micromobility, legislation has been improved to include the concepts of “small electric vehicle” and “small electric vehicle operator”, as well as improved control measures in this area,” he noted.
300 parking points have been identified, and more than 100 of them have been marked accordingly.

The number of micromobility vehicles rented by operators in the city of Baku is about 4,760 units. Of these, 77 percent are small electric vehicles (scooters), 18 percent are bicycles, 5 percent are electric bicycles.
From September to December, micromobility operators received 850,944 orders, and users traveled 2 million 244 thousand 302 kilometers.
On August 24, 2024, the “Apar” bicycle rental service and mobile application was launched. During this time, users covered about 215 thousand 800 kilometers. 70 parking spaces were provided for bicycles. “Apar” service is used by 46 thousand people,” added A. Rzayev.
