The relationship between the levels of a biological marker of systemic inflammation ratio and the patients’ depressive symptoms was investigated, with the hypothesis that the severity of the depression would be significantly related to poor prognostic inflammation. Recently diagnosed non-small cell lung cancer in depressed patients confirmed the thesis. New data show that patients’ depressive symptoms were reliably associated with biomarkers of lung-relevant systemic inflammation.
