Next year, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan celebrates its 30th anniversary. New tasks of the unique public institution were discussed at a meeting of the regional akim Ermaganbet Bulekpayev with members of the ANC and leaders of ethnic associations.

This year, the work of the elders’ council was noted at the republican level. Its chairman Bekzat Altynbekov spoke in more detail about what has already been done and proposed new initiatives. He considers it useful to involve representatives from the regions in the council. These should be those people who will become an example for young people.

Chairman of the Council of Mothers of the ANC of the Karaganda region Aizhan Kiyasova spoke about the role of family education.
“The Republican Council of Mothers supported the “Start with Yourself” campaign. At the regional level, we also intend to carry out this work so that our children from a young age have a correct understanding of law-abidingness and law and order,” noted Aizhan Kiyasova.

According to the chairman of the scientific-expert group of the regional ANC, Vilen Molotov-Luchansky, direct dialogue with feedback is important when working with young people.
“We have moved away from meetings towards direct communication. We held a lot of meetings, including with schoolchildren. Research, expeditions, and conferences on social and political topics also continued,” he says.

Well-known businessman Shamil Osin heads the Zhomart Zhan center. He spoke about charitable activities. ANC members provided great assistance to flood victims. They also do not stand aside from the implementation of socially significant projects.
Ermaganbet Bulekpayev reported that 68 schools in the region were selected for modernization, which will be brought to the level of comfortable educational institutions. Major renovations are planned. A complete update is expected within three years. The regional akim called on entrepreneurs to join this work.
Next year they intend to hold a republican Forum of Patrons of Art in the region. At the meeting, many other proposals were voiced in the field of education, culture, patriotic and moral education of youth, and popularization of the state language.

It was proposed to open a theater studio at the House of Friendship. And groups of ethnic associations can be sent on tour throughout the region so that in all corners they can see with their own eyes the diversity and beauty of folk art.
“We will take into account all proposals. The 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is ahead – a significant date. We must prepare very seriously for this event. Events dedicated to this date should have practical significance,” emphasized Ermaganbet Bulekpayev. “Everything you just talked about is a confirmation of the words of the Head of State at the XXXIII session of the ANC: “The Assembly has once again proven in practice that it is an effective conductor of the values and solidarity of our nation.” It is necessary to more actively involve young people in all projects. This should be one of the main components of the work of the ANC.”
What role does the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan play in promoting ethnic harmony and social responsibility in the country?
Interview Between the Time.news Editor and Vilen Molotov-Luchansky, Expert on Social and Political Engagement in Kazakhstan
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Vilen! It’s a pleasure to have you here with us to discuss the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Let’s dive right in. What do you think are the key responsibilities of the Assembly as it approaches this milestone?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Thank you for having me! As we celebrate this important anniversary, I believe the Assembly’s responsibilities have evolved significantly. It’s not only about representing various ethnic groups but also about fostering a dialogue among different sectors of society, especially the youth. These new tasks we discussed with the regional akim focus on enhancing community engagement and ensuring that the voices of all Kazakhs are heard in shaping our nation’s future.
Time.news Editor: That’s interesting! You mentioned the importance of dialogue with the youth. Can you elaborate on the strategies you’re implementing to enhance communication and involvement among young people?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Absolutely. We’ve shifted our approach from traditional meetings to more interactive and relatable forms of communication. We hold discussions in schools, where students can express their concerns and ideas directly. This ‘feedback loop’ helps us better understand their perspectives and also encourages them to actively participate in civic life.
Time.news Editor: Speaking of participation, the elders’ council seems to play a crucial role in guiding the younger generation. What initiatives have been proposed by the council leadership recently?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Yes, the elders’ council is invaluable. Chairman Bekzat Altynbekov recently advocated for involving exemplary figures from regional communities to set positive examples for the youth. Their experience and wisdom can greatly influence young people’s understanding of societal values and responsibilities.
Time.news Editor: That makes a lot of sense. I also heard about the “Start with Yourself” campaign supported by the Republican Council of Mothers. How crucial do you think family education is in contributing to the objectives of the Assembly?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Family education is foundational. Aizhan Kiyasova’s efforts to instill values of law-abidingness and social responsibility from a young age are commendable. When families actively participate in shaping their children’s understanding of civic duties, we create a culture of engagement and accountability that resonates with the objectives of the Assembly.
Time.news Editor: It’s inspiring to hear about such grassroots initiatives. Additionally, how does the charitable work being done, especially in support of flood victims, fit into the Assembly’s broader mission?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Charitable activities demonstrate the Assembly’s commitment to social responsibility and community support. Business leaders like Shamil Osin contribute significantly by mobilizing resources during crises. This kind of solidarity not only helps those in need but also reinforces unity among different ethnic groups, which is central to the Assembly’s mission.
Time.news Editor: That’s a wonderful way to foster community spirit. As a final thought, what would you like to see achieved by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in the coming years?
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: I’d love to see a more cohesive dialogue between all levels of society, where young people’s voices are incorporated into decision-making processes. As we look ahead, I envision the Assembly becoming a beacon for civic education and engagement, ensuring that every Kazakh citizen feels empowered to contribute to our nation’s development.
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Vilen! Your insights are truly enlightening, and I look forward to seeing how the Assembly evolves as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky: Thank you for the opportunity! It’s an exciting time for Kazakhstan.
