The Valencian government has ratified this week a protocol of intentions to promote and develop a technological hub in the old cinemas of the Costa dock, located in the Port of Castellón (Spain).

The main objective of this initiative is to stimulate innovation and technology, as well as increase the competitiveness of the port enclave. In line with these purposes, the Valencian budgets have allocated an initial investment of 100,000 euros for this project, also aimed at encouraging the installation of companies and attracting and retaining human talent.

The collaboration protocol signed between the Port Authority and the Valencian Ministry of Industry, Innovation, Commerce and Tourism seeks to coordinate efforts to strengthen support for productive sectors based on technology, in order to consolidate an innovative business fabric in the region.

Furthermore, this agreement seeks to connect initiatives aligned between both institutions to position the Valencian Community as a destination for companies and technological events at a national and international level.

Finally, the agreement aims to increase the visibility of the territory as a center of technological activity, promote public innovation as a catalyst for change and generate synergies between the agents involved to promote new initiatives.

Furthermore, the Port of Castellón aims to become a hub dedicated to floating offshore wind energy, in order to diversify its operations and strengthen its environmental sustainability.
