New territory for the Twitch star: Knossi gives first concert in the Metaverse | life & knowledge

THIS is new territory even for the self-proclaimed “King of the Internet”…

One of the largest Twitch streamers in Germany (2.1 million followers) was in mortal danger a moment ago YouTube survival show “7 vs. Wild”, now Knossi is drawn back into the virtual world.

Because today, on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m., Twitch star and singer Knossi (36, real name Jens Knossalla) will give his first concert in the so-called Metaverse!

▶︎ The event will be broadcast live and free of charge on the new BILD Twitch channel!

And on the BILD Twitch channel, viewers can expect content about sports, gaming and exciting interviews several times a week in the future.

The Knossi concert will take place in a virtual space, Axel Springer’s Metaverse Club. Like in a video game, participants can move through the audience with their character, buy drinks or dance.

Knossi himself will heat up the stage with his avatar – a new experience for the Twitch star, who has already been on stage with his songs in the Megapark on Mallorca,

In addition to well-known hits such as “Alge” and “Katsching”, the Twitch star is to perform his latest song “7 vs. Wild” live for the first time.

What is this metaverse?

There is no fixed definition of what a metaverse actually is. The term describes a virtual reality in which people can meet, trade and interact with each other digitally. Facebook in particular is pushing into this market, renamed the parent company of the social media giant Meta last year and is working flat out on the development of virtual spaces that should be accessible with virtual reality glasses.

However, Meta is by no means the first company to venture into the Metaverse: one or the other may still remember “Second Life”, an early virtual reality that started in 2003. Here, too, one can speak of a metaverse.

The term itself comes from a science fiction novel by the auto Neil Stephenson. As early as 1992, he wrote the book “Snow Crash” about a world in which people flee from reality into virtual worlds: into a metaverse.
