The second attempt to launch Starship, the world’s most powerful rocket, is looming, provided US air regulators authorize it. SpaceX announced Friday evening on social media that its giant rocket “is preparing to take off as early as November 17, subject to regulatory approval.”
The first flight took place on April 20, but ended in an explosion after three minutes of flight, the spacecraft and its first stage – a launcher called “Super Heavy” – having failed to separate. Elon Musk, founder and director of the company, nevertheless congratulated his teams for what he considered to be a successful first step.
