The New Toyota Prius was registered by the Japanese brand in Brazil, with the images published by the INPI magazine, the National Institute of Industrial Property.

The Japanese brand’s hybrid liftback is in its fifth generation and adopts a new style, much more sophisticated than the previous one, however, maintaining the fluid bodywork.

Manufactured in Aichi, Japan, the New Prius appears in four profile images, revealing the lines of the hybrid with a plug-in version in Japan, as well as now having four-wheel drive and a much more powerful engine.

Called the WX60 generation, the current one uses the TNGA platform, but with many modifications to become more efficient, now having two engines and new configurations.

Among them the use of the Dynamic Force 2.0 engine in two versions, one of them being a hybrid with 196 or 199 horsepower, still using a front-wheel drive configuration.

Another option has 223 horsepower and has an electric motor on the rear axle, thus guaranteeing the unprecedented AWD option, called E-Four.

The 1.8 HSD continues, but now with 140 horsepower, thanks to the more powerful electric motor, as it continues to deliver 98 horsepower with gasoline alone, however, there is a PHEV version with 152 horsepower.

In the case of the 2.0, which has double injection and high compression, the New Prius also has a Plug-In Hybrid version, with a small variation in power.

As it is a global player, the New Prius can return to Brazil with one of these versions, probably with the same hybrid mechanics as the Corolla 2024, which should arrive with 140 horses.

The Toyota Prius has a very weak rear electric motor, with just over 4 horsepower, but with plenty of torque.

Using lithium batteries instead of nickel-metal hydride, it is more efficient and guarantees greater autonomy in electric mode.

With 4,600 m in length, 1,780 m in width, 1,430 m in height and 2,750 m between axles, it provides more interior space and a larger trunk.
