A large number of tourists visit Puducherry for the New Year celebrations. Accordingly, while the New Year celebrations are being organized in various ways this year, for the safety of the public, barrier fences have been erected in the beach area so that no one goes into the sea.

Also, the police are stopping the tourists coming to the beach and sending them away. Following this, vehicles have been banned from the White Town area leading to Puducherry beach from 2 pm to control the traffic congestion.

People coming to the beach are advised to park their vehicles at Bharathidasan College, Indira Gandhi Sports Hall. The police have also warned that strict action will be taken against those who drive after drinking alcohol and engage in criminal activities.
