MERANO. Lots of music. And banned barrels. The countdown to celebrate the transition from 2024 to 2025 has started and Merano is preparing for the party. Among an impressive line-up to guarantee everyone’s safety and many inspiring moments.
We start from one fact: no precipitation on the horizon. It won’t snow, it won’t rain. The organization of the “New Year’s Eve in the square” was once again entrusted this year by the Municipality to the Tourist Board. Now that the era of the pyromusical show at the Kurhaus is over, the program focuses essentially on music. We start at 11am at the Mercatini with the GB Band (dance, pop, funky and Italian music) to continue with Skanka Nancy (blues, soul, pop and Italian music) and Voodoo Vibes (country, blues, rock’n roll) and the Cicci Bagnoli Quintet (cover by Vasco Rossi, Zucchero and Biagio Antonacci). Concerts with different start and end times. Various venues in the center will help liven up the environment with further parties.
At midnight there are three locations for the party under the stars. The setting for the younger ones is that of Piazza Teatro, profiled through the prestigious partnership with Radio Deejay: DJ Shorty is at the console. His career began in 1994, with experiences in Italy and abroad until arriving at Radio DeeJay twenty years ago. It offers 360-degree house, alternating fast-paced grooves with melodies. In Piazza Teatro he will be accompanied by DJ Pat.
The stage on Corso Libertà Superiore is dedicated to live music where the Virna Marangoni Band will perform, offering hits from yesterday and today.
In Piazza Terme, DJ Adam offers a journey through the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Roads closed.
All accompanied by the rules to allow everything to go smoothly. A specific ordinance from the mayor will prohibit the use of glass bottles and glasses, fireworks and irritating sprays in the event area, i.e.: Walks along Passirio (including the Tourist Office ramp), Piazza Terme, Corso Libertà, Piazza Teatro .
The streets and squares affected by the New Year’s Eve events (in particular Piazza Teatro) will be closed to traffic from 6pm today, 31 December, to 3am tomorrow, 1 January.
