His tweet was directed to Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who had previously promised to receive his next paycheck in cryptocurrency. In August, Miami authorities, backed by Suarez, launched their own cryptocurrency called MiamiCoin to fund infrastructure projects and city events. In just two months, the cryptocurrency brought the municipal budget almost $ 8 million. According to Suarez, already in 2022 this amount will be at least $ 60 million, which will be used to solve social problems.
In an interview with Bloomberg this week, Adams, citing the Miami experience, said he would like to enter into a “friendly contest” with Suarez and do something similar in New York.
