According to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Cost of Living Survey, New York and Singapore topped the list of the most expensive luxury cities to live in.
Expenditures on more than 200 items, including housing, transportation, food, and clothing, are taken into account. The luxury cities are listed based on the daily cost of living. 172 cities were taken up for this study which was conducted last August and September.
Damascus, the capital of Syria, and Tripoli, Libya, are among the most affordable cities in the world to live in.
