Unclaimed goods were auctioned off at a warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand last month. Among the items bought at the auction was a suitcase. The family, who bought it at a price, were shocked to find rotting corpses in it and informed the police department. When the rotting corpses were found in the suitcase, the police started an investigation. Recently, it was discovered that the rotting bodies found in the suitcase belonged to 2 children under the age of ten. On further investigation, the identities of the two children were found and confirmed.
Meanwhile, South Korean authorities have arrested a woman on charges of murder in connection with the bodies of two children found in luggage in New Zealand this month. A 42-year-old woman, said to be a New Zealander of South Korean descent, was arrested in Ulsan in the southeast, police said, and was flown to Seoul after her arrest.
The suspect was charged by New Zealand police with killing the mother’s two children, aged 7 and 10, in Auckland in 2018. After the murder, she was found to have traveled to South Korea. After her arrest, the woman arrived at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on Thursday (September 15) in a police car with tinted windows.

The remains of two children were found at an auction for abandoned goods outside Auckland after a trailer was bought, police said, adding that because the bodies had been stored for years, there were problems with obtaining information from post-mortems.
According to Police Inspector Tofila, it is very difficult to investigate the case. He added, “The arrest of a foreigner in such a short period of time was due to the assistance of the Korean authorities and the coordination of our New Zealand police and Interpol staff,” AFP reported.
