In an event that has caused great commotion, a newborn baby was found abandoned in a garbage dump in the municipality of Cota, Cundinamarca. Security cameras in the area captured the moment when a woman left a bag next to a garbage can, where the little girl was.

The incident occurred on Calle 13 and Carrera 6b at 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 7. The community, alerted by the baby’s crying, reacted quickly and called the authorities. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Fire Department, the child was transferred to the Juan N. Corpas Clinic, where she received immediate medical attention.
In the security video, the woman can be seen passing by the place several times, checking the street before leaving the package and fleeing. Investigators from the Cota Police, together with the Family Police Station and the Children and Adolescents Police, are already carrying out investigations to identify the person responsible. The videos from the security cameras are being analyzed to determine the route she followed after abandoning the baby.

The minor was found wrapped in cloth with traces of blood, so she was subjected to medical examinations during her transfer. Fortunately, her health condition is stable and she is under observation in the clinic’s pediatric service. This act has generated indignation in the community, which now hopes that the authorities will find the person responsible and guarantee the protection of the minor.
