Outrage gripped Sancti Spíritus last Sunday after the discovery of five newborn puppies abandoned in the rain.
The ARCA Foundation, an organization dedicated to animal welfare, took the initiative to share the painful scene on its Facebook page, calling the act “a disgrace.”
The community’s quick response allowed the dogs to be rescued, although the biggest challenge would be finding a foster mother to ensure the puppies’ survival.
The ARCA Foundation’s call quickly circulated throughout cyberspace. “They have already been picked up, but a foster mother is urgently needed,” was highlighted in the publication, emphasizing the need for specialized care for puppies.
In response, the foundation proposed a temporary solution: a community volunteer willing to feed the puppies every three hours using a syringe to supply them with milk. “The ARCA foundation is going to help,” the organization highlighted.
Meanwhile, the images of the puppies, visibly hungry and just a few days after their arrival into the world, touched the hearts of the inhabitants of Sancti Spíritus and the community of the island in general.
In the background of the video, a woman’s voice could be heard expressing her shock at the ability of some people to abandon such defenseless beings.
Unfortunately, animal cruelty in Cuba is becoming more and more common, setting off alarm bells.

Other similar cases have emerged in different parts of the country, such as in Havana, where a dog was found abandoned at a bus stop, wearing a collar with its name written on a piece of cardboard.
Fortunately, there are noble-hearted people who lend their help to these furry animals, without abandoning them until they find a family that finally loves them.
