Consultant cardiology and arterial catheterization, Dr. Khaled Al-Nimr, explained that scientific studies have proven that cupping helps in treating some diseases, provided that there are no contraindications.

Al-Nimr indicated that these diseases include lower back pain, neck pain, knee friction and migraine, and some skin diseases.

He advised patients with tumors, heart failure, liver and kidney failure, blood thinners and blood diseases such as hemophilia, blood donors within 6 weeks, and those suffering from anemia, to stay away from cupping.
