Today (Sunday), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health imposed new fees on expatriates related to health services provided to clinic patients, hospital emergencies and outpatient clinics.
And the Kuwaiti Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, issued a ministerial decision imposing fees on the dispensing of medicines from non-Kuwaiti patients registered in the health insurance system, as part of efforts to improve health care services, stop wasting medicines, and control their disbursement.
The decision specified the fees to be in the case of dispensing medicines from a pharmacy of a primary health care center (dispensary) at a value of 5 dinars, and in the event of disbursement from a hospital accident pharmacy at a value of 5 dinars, and a value of 10 dinars when dispensing medicines from an outpatient pharmacy.
The decision indicated that the new fees are added to the health consultation fees, which are set at a value of two dinars when visiting the clinic of primary health care centers (dispensaries), and 10 dinars when reviewing hospital accidents or outpatient clinics.
