The Health Insurance Council “Daman” issued a circular today, Tuesday, to all accredited health service providers and qualified health insurance companies, to stop the procedures for the state to bear the costs of treating Corona patients at private health facilities.
The Council confirmed the completion of the treatment of any of the cases infected with the hypnotic Corona virus before the date of 3/13/2022 AD, corresponding to 10/8/1443 AH, according to the circular of the Ministry of Health issued on 11/8/1443 AH.
The aforementioned Ministry of Health circular included:
Stopping the state from bearing the costs of health and treatment services provided to all cases of infection with the Corona virus in private health facilities, and continuing to cover them until the date of March 13, 2022 until they are transferred to the hospitals of the Ministry of Health, with detailed and recent reports in preparation for their transfer when acceptance and the family are available.
– Patients who do not have eligibility for treatment or insurance coverage are dealt with by obtaining prior approval from the health insurance program and by purchasing health services through the operating company.
– The state bears the costs of treating cases that required hypnosis and confirmed that they were infected with corona with a positive result due to a lack of oxygen due to severe pneumonia until they were discharged from the hospital, as well as those who were hospitalized due to lack of oxygen due to pneumonia until two negative results were proven according to the approved protocol.
– The state does not bear the costs of detection or examination in the outpatient clinics for symptoms resulting from infection with the virus, except for cases that necessitated hypnosis according to what was mentioned above.
The limits of the state bearing the costs of treating inpatients with what is included in the daily packages are according to the price list approved by the Ministry of Health, and what is outside of those packages is subject to the individual evaluation of each case and with the prior approval of the program and the purchase of health services from the operating company.
– The state does not bear the costs of detection or treatment of cases that were previously hypnotized due to another illness and were infected with the Corona virus, or those that arrived in the emergency for other reasons, and cases that reach emergency are dealt with according to the rules for treating emergency cases.
The Health Insurance Council recommended making sure to complete all vaccination doses, as well as booster doses, according to the directives of the Ministry of Health and Weqaya.
The Council indicated that the circular was issued in light of the decreasing upward index of HIV infection rates, disease severity, hypnosis rates, the high percentage of immunized people, and the reduction of precautionary measures related to combating the virus.
He added that insurance companies bear to cover all expenses resulting from suspected and confirmed infection with the Corona virus, for health insurance beneficiaries, in line with the limits of the policy.
