/ A large explosion was seen near the Iranian city of Shahriar, close to the capital Tehran, on Thursday evening, according to local media and footage circulated on social media. Meanwhile, the governor of the Iranian city of Jerusalem, Vahid Gholi Kani, announced that a fire broke out in one of the chemical manufacturing companies in Shahr-e Quds, causing a huge explosion, noting that immediate measures were taken to control the fire that broke out in the company’s chemical tanks.

Iranian media quoted in a Persian report translated by Agency, Gholi Kani as saying, “The sound of the explosion has nothing to do with security issues and is nothing more than a fire issue,” noting that the fire broke out in the tanks of a private company that produces chemical solutions, and the incident occurred due to a disruption in the production line.

Gholi Kali added that with the coordination that took place in the shortest time, the fire departments of Qods, Shahriar, Fardis, Alborz Province and Greater Tehran entered the scene of the accident and are extinguishing the fire in the tanks, stressing that the rest of the fire was controlled by firefighting equipment and there were no casualties.

He added that the damages were limited to the financial aspect, indicating that if the company is insured, the necessary support will be provided to it.
