Russian media claimed that Ukraine had planned to attack Bryansk Oblast with an atomic bomb during the devastating war in Eastern Europe, Nexta reported. The Bryansk Oblast is located on the Desna River, 380 km southwest of Moscow.

The Russian media’s claim comes as the war between Russia and Ukraine intensifies and enters its 94th day on Saturday, May 28th. Russia also accused Ukrainian forces of launching a series of missile strikes on the Bryansk border checkpoint in April.

Medusa, an independent news agency, reports that Russian officials do not intend to abandon the declaration of victory in Ukraine, but instead are considering increasing military operations in the hope of achieving victory by autumn.

Despite the fact that the results of the Russian military did not correspond to the original plans of Moscow, the Kremlin is once again contemplating a possible attack on Kyiv, and aims for even a full-scale victory, the website quoted its sources as saying. It said Russia was considering regulating the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a “minimum” for declaring victory over Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces block Russian forces’ advance on Severodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast in the Donbass. Russian artillery fire continues to encircle the only major Ukrainian-controlled city in the region. Most of the territory in Donbass, including the strongholds of pro-Russian rebels in the Luhansk and Donetsk provinces, is reportedly under Russian control. With the fall of Severodoronetsk, the whole region will be under Russian control.

Kherson was the first major city to be captured by Russia. The Ukrainian military reckons that Khersan will be able to recapture this time as the Russian army focuses on the Donbass.

Houses in the village of Dimid were submerged when Ukrainian forces destroyed a dam on the Irpin River to prevent Russian forces from advancing. The dam was demolished in February to prevent troops from moving to Kiev. 50 houses are still under water.
