Newspaper sues Hungarian government – and wins first instance – Europe

The number of independent media in Hungary is dwindling and their survival is fundamentally at risk. They get hardly any advertisers, no funding and have to worry about their legal status. Viktor Orbán has completely reformed the media system in his favour. What makes the work of journalists in the independent media most difficult is that the government hardly ever answers their inquiries.
