Next award of the works for the Lorca platform and station, in Murcia
With this action, all sections of the Mediterranean Corridor between Murcia and Almera will now be underway.
In the coming weeks, the works on the railway platform and the Lorca station will be awarded, tendered for 400 million euros. At the January Board of Directors, Adif will authorize the signing of the contract and the start of the work.

Currently, Murcia is connected both with Madrid, in two hours and 45 minutes, and with Alicante, in fifty minutes, and with Almera, in just over an hour, with stops in Lorca and Vera. The Mediterranean Corridor has advanced towards Cartagena and Almera, where almost half of these works have already been carried out, in which more than 3,460 million euros have been invested.
Since 2018, 1,093 million have been executed in the Corridor, exclusively in the Region of Murcia. In addition, public transport has been promoted with the launch of proximity services between Murcia and Cartagena and with the free subscriptions for suburban, conventional medium distance and state-owned bus lines, as well as discounts on the 50 percent of Avant passes, which have just been extended. A measure with which, so far, travelers originating and ending in the Region of Murcia have saved more than 7 million euros.
