Within the framework of the call Agenda 19the country’s trade unions presented their claims to the Ministry of Labor and after several meetings, they managed to have positive results, especially those related to the rights of Peruvian workers.
One of the last agreements was the increase in salaries from January of this year and it is expected that point No. 10 of said agenda, which refers to the increase in pensions for retirees, will be resolved shortly.
Through sources close to said Ministry, it was learned that the union leaders, after the debate on their collective agreements, managed to get the Government to understand that their remunerations do not conform to the basic family basket and that, even worse, in times of pandemic and Given the cost of living, their salaries were reduced.
That is why 560,000 public servants already have the increase in their salaries.
Under this concept, the same thing is expected to happen with the pensions of DL retirees. 1,990 and 20,530 and, who continue with their payments frozen since 2019, when they received an increase of only 85 soles.
That, without counting, that they came with a delay of 18 years of not having had any increase. Now, everything would be ready to proceed with the long-awaited increases. The pension readjustment calculation must be such that the minimum pension, which is currently 500 soles, rises as the basic salary, that is, S/1,025, of course, gradually, as economists have proposed.

The increase of pensions of the retired del DL. 19990 It is a fair claim, since since 2019 pensions have been frozen at 500 soles per month (the minimum), an unconstitutional fact that violates all laws and outrages the unemployed who live in a dramatic situation.
That is why the Government of Dina Boluarte knows perfectly well that pensions must
be increased and for this there are already technical calculations on the scale of increases. On the other hand, Congress has also been doing its thing and it is most likely that in any case they will put this issue up for debate in plenary session, which has already been debated and approved.

In this way, in the following weeks, the bills presented in favor of retirees in Peru could be debated in the Plenary Session of Congress and thus the long-awaited readjustment of ONP pensions could be carried out.

Thus, we have the legislative proposal that requests the progressive increase of the minimum retirement pension of the pensioners of the regime of Decree Law 19990 until reaching a Minimum Vital Remuneration (previous RMV) that is S/930 and that would now become valid because the current basic salary is S/1,025.
This means that the new pension amount for retirees would be S/1,025 equivalent to one RMV, a readjustment that would be done progressively until reaching this amount. Thus, it is understood that the objective of this legislative proposal is to increase
in the pensions of retirees progressively, that is, for periods of time that are expected to be very short, and thus go from the 500 soles that a retiree receives as a minimum amount until reaching the amount of the previous RMV or basic salary that rises to S/930 per month (currently it is S/1,025).
