Also, during the mentioned time period, vehicle traffic will be restricted on the section of Hipokrāta Street from Maliena Street to the building on Hipokrāta Street No. 1.

With the introduction of the new restrictions, the section of Malienas Street from the building on Malienas Street 27 to Hipokrātas Street will be opened for traffic, and the traffic restrictions on the section of Malienas Street from Kvēles Street to Hipokrātas Street will not be valid.

Vehicular traffic on Mežciema Street, Hipokrāta Street and Kvēles Street can be restored before the mentioned time period if the works are completed sooner.

In October of last year, the reconstruction of the intersection of Hippokratas Street and Maliena Street was started. The works are planned to be completed by the end of November this year, if there are no technical obstacles to the execution of the works. The construction of heating networks, water pipes, domestic and storm sewers, and electronic communication networks has been completed in the construction site. The construction of street surfaces and lighting continues in the facility.

The project solution envisages the construction of a rotary circle with three branches at the intersection, which would improve the traffic capacity of the intersection. The construction project also envisages the construction of non-adjustable pedestrian crossings with special pedestrian crossing lighting at the approaches to the roundabout. As part of the project, a pedestrian crossing of the same type will also be built on Mežciema Street. It is also planned to rebuild and improve the existing public transport stops.

At the connection of Dambjapurva Street to the roundabout, it is planned to change the existing traffic organization in order to reduce the possibility of vehicles passing through the residential area. The solution of the project envisages allowing the possibility of exiting from the roundabout to Dambjapurva street, but the possibility of entering from Dambjapurva street in the roundabout is not foreseen.

Construction works are carried out by SIA CBF “Ļ-KO” and its cost is 2.9 million euros.
