Brazil’s soccer superstar Neymar wanted to resign from the national team shortly after the disappointing World Cup in Qatar.
“To be honest, I didn’t want to come back after the World Cup. But I changed my mind because I’m still very hungry,” said the 31-year-old in an interview with a Brazilian YouTuber.
After the quarter-final defeat by Croatia, he “cried for five days in a row,” said the Paris Saint-Germain attacker. “It was the worst moment of my life. It was like a wake, one side was crying, the other was crying,” said Neymar, referring to the Seleção’s emotions after being eliminated on penalties.
Change unlikely
The striker also spoke about his club. He ‘expects’ to play for PSG next season as well, Neymar said. “I have a contract with Paris Saint-Germain and so far no one has spoken to me about anything else,” he said, referring to speculation about transfers.
