NFL Holiday Schedule 2024: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas Games Confirmed

A robust schedule of NFL games spanning Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas has been unveiled, cementing football’s position as a cornerstone of the US holiday season. The league is expanding its festive offerings, building on the success of recent initiatives and delivering a packed lineup for fans.

Thanksgiving has long been synonymous with football, and this year continues that tradition. The Detroit Lions will uphold their annual tradition of hosting a Thanksgiving game, a practice dating back to 1934. This year, they will face the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, November 27, at 18:00 GMT.

Thanksgiving Triple-Header

Following the Lions’ game, “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys, will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 21:30 GMT. According to historical data, the Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving since 1966, missing the holiday only twice. The Thanksgiving triple-header will conclude with the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Cincinnati Bengals at 01:20 GMT on November 28.

Black Friday Football Expands

The NFL’s foray into Black Friday football, initiated in 2023, will continue this year. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Chicago Bears in a game broadcast on Amazon Prime at 20:00 GMT. This marks a continued effort to capitalize on the high viewership numbers associated with the post-Thanksgiving shopping day.

Christmas Day and Beyond

The festive football schedule extends beyond Thanksgiving weekend. Netflix will stream two games on Christmas Day, continuing a partnership that began last season. The Washington Commanders will host the Cowboys at 18:00 GMT, followed by the Minnesota Vikings welcoming the Lions at 21:30 GMT.

Adding to the Christmas lineup, Amazon Prime will broadcast a third game: Kansas City’s home match against the Denver Broncos on December 26 at 01:15 GMT. This expanded schedule demonstrates the NFL’s commitment to providing compelling content throughout the holiday season, catering to a broad audience across multiple platforms.
