Trainers,
After a weekend of frustrating experiences with Gigantamax battles, Niantic has reached out to share some changes that will be made ahead of Gigantamax Gengar’s debut on October 31st.
We’re thankful that Niantic has taken on community feedback from the Gigantamax Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard battles that took place over the weekend. They’ve shared a series of adjustments that appear to enhance the Gigantamax raids experience.
Niantic is introducing a reward of 25,000 Stardust for each completed Gigantamax Gengar encounter. This addition is designed to help players quickly recover the resources they invest into the Dynamax and Gigantamax systems, ensuring participation feels more rewarding. The aim is to foster a positive cycle, encouraging Trainers to engage more frequently in Gigantamax encounters.
This could earn you a whopping 37.5k Stardust per successful Gigantamax battle, which could lead to substantial gains during an event!
Niantic is making a slight adjustment to the difficulty level of the Gigantamax Gengar encounter, aiming to make it more approachable than previous Gigantamax battles. Many communities have found the battles overly challenging, so this is a significant step in the right direction!
While Gigantamax encounters are intended to be a significant challenge in Pokémon GO, Niantic aims to ensure that players have a fair chance to defeat Gengar. Trainers will still need to strategize, coordinate with their group, and enter the battle with a degree of preparation, but these adjustments should make the encounter a bit easier, encouraging a broader range of players to participate in Gigantamax battles.
No specific numbers have been released regarding the estimated difficulty of Gigantamax Gengar just yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled to keep you informed!
Niantic has indicated that they will continue to listen to feedback and may implement additional adjustments as Gigantamax battles continue to evolve within the game. Many other suggestions have been made by Trainers to enhance the Gigantamax/Dynamax experience. We hope to see further tweaks in the future.
It will be intriguing to see the Gigantamax Gengar raids and how much of a difference these changes will make to the community.
As we’ve noted, it is encouraging that Niantic values our feedback. As you play in the coming weeks, we’d love to hear about your experiences; ongoing feedback is essential for making Pokémon GO even better.
