Nick Bosa shines in 49ers’ dominant win over Jaguars
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Nick Bosa’s dominance was on full display as the San Francisco 49ers cruised to a 34-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Despite only being on the field for 37 defensive plays, Bosa made his presence felt with 1.5 sacks, two hits, and a forced fumble that he also recovered.
“I felt the humidity, and it was just so, so good,” Bosa said after the game, showing that his Florida roots contributed to his impressive performance.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan praised Bosa’s impact on the field throughout the season, stating that it was only a matter of time before the star defensive lineman racked up impressive numbers to back it up.
Bosa’s former Ohio State teammate, Chase Young, also had a strong performance, sealing off the edges and allowing more opportunities for other 49ers defenders to pressure Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Teammate Javon Hargrave recorded 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hits, while Arik Armstead added 0.5 sacks and a quarterback hit.
Despite any criticism Bosa has faced since his sizable contract extension, Armstead emphasized that Bosa has been dominant in both the pass and run game all season.
With their latest win, the 49ers look to continue their winning streak and build on their defensive prowess as they move forward in the season.
