Nicki Minaj alleges that she was deceived by rapper Jay-Z, who purportedly tried to silence her with 1 million dollars after discovering the sale of TIDAL, a music platform of which he was the owner. Nicki claims she received information that the music streaming service would be sold to the co-founder of X, Jack Dorsey, in 2021 and that they would not pay her.
“I got a call informing me that TIDAL had been sold and that they didn’t make any money from the deal. So, all they could offer me was 1 million dollars. But wait, there’s more. The lawyer informed that Desiree told me that I had to sign the contract within 24 hours if I wanted the 1 million or the ‘offer’,” she wrote on a social network, adding that she rejected the proposal. The “Desiree” she mentioned refers to Desiree Perez, the chief operating officer of Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s record label.
The rapper took the opportunity to criticize Jay-Z for not speaking out about the case of Sean “Diddy” Combs – they both had a long-term relationship. Recently, Diddy was accused of sex trafficking, criminal conspiracy, and promoting prostitution. According to the singer, the controversy with TIDAL is a smokescreen to avoid discussing the relationship between the rappers.
By the way, Beyoncé also did not escape the spotlight, as she also adopted a silent stance on the incident, generating speculation that they might be aware of everything that has happened.
